Looking back on 2015
Some of the highlights for me in 2015 have been the concerts with piano
player Frank Harrison at the beautiful Cercle Münster in Luxembourg town, at the Kurfürstliches Palais
in Trier and for the Dutch Embassy in Luxembourg. We also had two great concerts in a jazzclub in Ettlingen and at Pianos Kelly in Niederanven together with bassplayer Davide Petrocca which was a wonderful experience. In november we recorded a video with this trio
in Schloss Weilerbach (close to Echternach) and we hope to share that video with you soon. And I hope to do many more concerts with these two amazing musiciens. Stay tuned!
I also had the great pleasure of doing two concerts with luxembourgish piano
player Marc Mangen. One in Wittlich and one in Luxembourg town at ClassicMania. It was especially great to
be doing some of Marc's own compositions.
I would like to thank everybody who was involved in these and al the other
concerts. The organisers, the audience, the musicians and all those who've supported and inspired me. It means a lot to me and you make it possible for me to do what I
love.
A new band!
In the summer of 2015 I started thinking about having a new band as I felt
so much like having a bigger band with whom I could experiment and do some new repertoire with. For sure I wanted to have a lot of groove and different styles so I could show (and discover)
another side of me. Since end of december the band is complete (with 6 different nationalities!) and I'm very thrilled to introduce them to you.
On piano we have George
Letellier, american pianoplayer, arranger and composer based in
Luxembourg since 1995. For all these different grooves we have Benoit Martiny on the drums. The youngest member of the band is bass player Vedran Mutic from Slovenia. On guitar, especially for all the beautiful bossa nova tunes we
would like to do (and much more), we have Paulo Simoes. And last but not least I'm very happy that violin player Barbara
Witzel from the Luxembourg Philharmonic orchestra has
accepted our invitation to join the band.
We're still brainstorming about the bandname so I will announce that next
time! For sure I can't wait to start this new adventure with these great musiciens. We will have a concert on Sunday 17th July at the Apéro Jazz of the Abbaye de Neumünster in Luxembourg.
I will keep you up to date about any other news and upcoming concerts and I
hope to see you sometime in 2016!
All the best!!
Edith
